Cupping Therapy

Gentle suction to loosen tight muscles and support circulation.

At Simi Spine and Wellness, cupping therapy is offered as part of our comprehensive approach to soft-tissue care and recovery. Using gentle suction, cupping helps lift and loosen tight muscles and fascia, supporting circulation and mobility in the areas being worked on.

Cupping is commonly used alongside chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, and other treatments to help patients feel looser, move more freely, and recover from everyday physical stress. Whether it is right for you is determined during your visit.

What is cupping therapy?

Cupping uses small cups placed on the skin to create gentle suction, lifting the soft tissue underneath rather than pressing down on it. The cups are positioned over areas that feel tight or restricted and either left in place or moved slowly along the muscle for a few minutes at a time.

It is a non-invasive technique that most people find relaxing. Cupping can leave temporary circular marks on the skin where the suction was applied. These are normal and typically fade on their own over a few days.

What to expect during a session

Cupping is applied to specific areas as part of your care, not the whole body at once. A session is quick and comfortable, and there is no downtime afterward, so you can return to your normal activities right away.

Dr. DeCloedt and the team will explain what cupping is meant to support before it becomes part of your plan, so you always understand why it is included in a visit.

A complement to chiropractic care

Cupping is offered as a complement to hands-on care, not a replacement for it. By helping loosen tight soft tissue, it can make the rest of your care more comfortable and support the work being done in the office. It is often paired with adjustments and massage as part of a broader, personalized plan.
